Omolara Olaiya, the wife of popular Yoruba actor Olaniyi Afonja, aka Sanyeri, has announced divorce from him.
The Canada-based businesswoman said she has maintained a cordial relationship with the actor for the sake of their children.
Sanyeri and Omola got married in 2007 and are blessed with two children.
Announcing the divorce on social media, she wrote
“Two adults, especially the ones with kids, can decide to maintain a cordial relationship for the sake of their children.”
“I mean, even though we are no longer living in the same country, being single for exactly 9 years and co-parenting with my ex-husband hasn’t been all bed of roses for us.”
“I continue to do well in performing my right duties and what is expected of a single mother and a woman with children, and he performs the same duties and fatherly rights for our children.”
