Cristiano Ronaldo is set to marry his fiancée, Georgina Rodriguez, on the Portuguese island of Madeira where he was born and raised, according to reports
British newspaper The Sun reported that the couple have chosen Madeira for their wedding ceremony, with the Funchal Cathedral in the island’s capital reportedly booked for the occasion.
The report said the wedding is expected to hold this Saturday, August 8th, 2026, with the reception planned at the five-star Savoy Palace hotel in Funchal.
Ronaldo, 41, who grew up in Funchal, and Georgina, 32, have been together since 2016 after meeting in Spain.
The Portugal captain proposed to Georgina in August 2025, and the couple were recently spotted wearing diamond rings while boarding a yacht in Majorca, fuelling further speculation about their wedding plans.
Ronaldo had previously disclosed that he and Georgina planned to get married after the World Cup, saying he hoped to arrive at the ceremony with the championship trophy.
“I hope to arrive at my wedding with the champion’s trophy,” Ronaldo had told Piers Morgan.
The former Manchester United forward, who currently plays for Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, has described Georgina as the only woman he had dated whom he wanted to settle down with.
The reported wedding will mark a major milestone in the relationship between one of football’s biggest stars and the Spanish-Argentine model, although neither Ronaldo nor Georgina has publicly confirmed the details.
