Afrobeats star Rema has spoken candidly about his past relationship, explaining that despite the good moments they shared, it eventually became emotionally draining.
According to the singer, while the relationship was beautiful, he often felt overwhelmed by the pressure that came with it. He said life already brings enough challenges, and home should be a place of comfort rather than added stress.
“My romantic relationship was beautiful but a little quite manipulative. So much pressure. Knowing the world puts so much pressure on me but coming back home is where you want to feel relieved but when you come back home and you are getting more pressure, it’s a different story. For now, I’m done,” he said.
Rema noted that the experience influenced his decision to step away, adding that he is currently focused on himself and his peace of mind.
