Rapper Snoop Dogg cancels New Zealand show after promoter was convicted of s3xual assault

Rapper Snoop Dogg has cancelled his New Zealand concert just three days before it was scheduled, following news that the show’s promoter had been convicted of s3xually assaulting his children’s babysitter.

The rapper was set to perform at the Due Drop Events Centre in Manukau, Auckland, on Saturday. However, 4ward Entertainment, the event promoter, announced the cancellation on Wednesday, September 17, citing “circumstances beyond our control” and expressing regret that the planned “New Zealand-first” show would no longer take place.

The cancellation comes a week after local promoter Pato Alvarez, previously unnamed, was revealed to have faced multiple s3x assault accusations. Reports indicate Alvarez faced 25 charges involving nine women and was convicted in 2023 on two counts of indecent assault and attempted unlawful s3xual connection involving his babysitter. His identity was recently made public after the Supreme Court of New Zealand rejected his attempt to keep it sealed.

Following the revelation, women reportedly called for boycotts of events promoted by Alvarez. Alvarez had previously claimed credit for arranging Snoop Dogg’s concert in New Zealand, describing it as a special stop on the rapper’s tour to Australia.
