Veteran Nollywood actress Regina Askia has sparked online debate after criticizing the state of democracy in Nigeria.
In a recent post shared on her Instagram page, the US-based nurse practitioner lamented that many elective positions are being treated as hereditary family titles. “Too many public officials seem to think that public office is a ‘chieftaincy title’ to pass to their kids,” Askia wrote, questioning the democratic values of the nation’s political.
