Phyna is taking a more reflective look at marriage and how growing older has changed the way she sees it.
The former Big Brother Naija winner recently shared that as she approaches 30, she has found herself thinking differently about something she once viewed from a much younger perspective.
Looking back, she admitted that when she was 22 or 23, people in their late 20s and early 30s seemed much older, and she couldn’t understand why some of the women around her were still unmarried.
Now, with 30 no longer feeling so far away, she says reality has given her a different understanding.
Speaking candidly, she said:
“…I’m just thinking out loud. I remember when I was 22, 23 then you know 29 was so far away but now this is 29 and everything is just dawning on me because I remember that time all those my aunties that were like in their early 30s that they are not married. I’d be like, auntie you no go marry, auntie you no marry, like then it was looking like the auntie get problem. Guys. Guys. We sef don dey touch am o. Auntie no get problem. I swear. Our aunties, they didn’t have problem. No single problem”.
Her words shows how age and personal experience can shift the way people see life. What once seemed easy to judge from a distance now feels more relatable, leaving her with a deeper appreciation that everyone’s journey happens at its own pace.
