Oleksandr Usyk defeats Tyson Fury to retain heavyweight title

Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk reinforced his position as one of the greatest heavyweight champions in history on Sunday, defeating Tyson Fury by unanimous decision in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Usyk retained his WBA (Super), WBO, and WBC heavyweight titles, extending his unbeaten professional record to an impressive 23-0.

In their second encounter, the fighters delivered a thrilling 12-round battle marked by shifts in momentum. Usyk’s tactical brilliance and resilience allowed him to neutralize Fury’s aggression, earning a clean sweep on the judges’ scorecards at 116-112.

After the fight, Usyk humbly reflected on his victory, saying, “I win, it’s good,” and credited his family for their support. “My wife helps me, my children. My two sons have won judo belts. My son said, ‘Papa, you next.’

He also praised Fury, calling him “a great fighter” and acknowledging their two matches as “unbelievable 24 rounds” that had shaped his career.

In a touching moment, Usyk dedicated the victory to his late mother and “all mothers of Ukraine.”

When asked about his future, the heavyweight champion hinted at more challenges ahead, saying, “I can more. I am ready. I go back home, rest,” leaving fans eager to see what lies ahead for the undefeated king.
