Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has shared his thoughts on how age can influence opportunities in the music industry, especially when it comes to funding and brand partnerships.
In a candid remark about how artists are often perceived, he pointed out that some performers feel pressured to appear younger than they actually are in order to stay commercially attractive.
According to him, this is sometimes tied to how record labels and investors make decisions.
He explained his own position on the matter, saying:
“I am 32 and I don’t bother myself for getting things right at this age. A lot of artists reduce their age because of record labels and partnership deals. You know a lot of investors in the music industry wouldn’t want to invest in older artists,”
Odumodublvck’s comments reflect a reality in the entertainment industry about how age and image can influence commercial opportunities. His statements connotes how many artists still feel the pressure to balance authenticity with market expectations, especially from labels and investors who often favour youth when making business decisions.
