NFF reportedly denies Gernot Rohr is entitled to $2million compensation if sacked

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has pushed back against claims that the football body will have to part with a whooping $2m as compensation for Gernot Rohr if he is sacked as Super Eagles manager. The NFF could announce the departure of Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr this week. According to reports, both sides have reached an agreement to end his five years reign in charge of the team and all the necessary documents will be signed soon. Media reports last week speculated that the Franco-German tactician has been relieved from his duty, but the Nigeria Football Federation denied the reports but admitted they are looking at possibilities. The former Gabon coach still has 12 months on his $4500 per month contract with he signed last year.
After rumors circulated that Rohr could make up to N600 million as compensation for a sack, an NFF source has now dismissed the rumors. The source told Nigeria Football expert Adepoju Tobi Samuel; “I saw people quoting $3 million. I have also read the N600 million & N1 billion payoff figures.” “There is no clause in Rohr’s contract that we will pay heavy compensation if his contract is terminated talkless of having any $2m or $3m compensation clause, this is false.”
