Asake has touched down in Saudi Arabia amid rising tensions in the Middle East.
In the early hours of Thursday, March 11, the “Lonely At The Top” singer posted videos capturing his departure from Nigeria and journey to the kingdom.
His arrival coincides with the last ten days of Ramadan, a period marked by the observance of Umrah and the revered night of Laylat al-Qadr.
In one clip, Asake is seen at the airport dressed in ihram clothing, signaling his participation in the spiritual pilgrimage.
Umrah, a sacred but non-mandatory journey to Makkah, can be performed any time of the year. The rituals include entering a state of purity known as ihram, performing Tawaf by circling the Kaaba seven times counter-clockwise, and completing Sa’i, the walk between Safa and Marwa.
The pilgrimage concludes with men shaving or trimming their hair, while women trim a small portion of theirs.
