Afrobeats singer Mr Eazi has shared details about his father’s career as a pilot, revealing that he once served as a private pilot to former President Olusegun Obasanjo after previously working with billionaire businessman Mike Adenuga
The singer made this known in an interview clip, where he spoke about the life and influence of his father, Captain Alexander Olukayode Ajibade.
According to Mr Eazi, his father recently retired from aviation after years of service, during which he worked with high-profile individuals in Nigeria.
“My dad is a pilot, so you know, he just retired in November. But just seeing him fly around, I think that kind of made me want that freedom. I wanted a life where I could also just fly around,” he said.
He further explained his father’s journey from military aviation to private contracts.
“He was the pilot in the military, and when he retired, he then started to fly for, like, Adenuga. That’s one of the richest men in Nigeria. He had an oil company, and my dad would fly the choppers to the oil rigs and back,” he said.
Mr Eazi added that his father later moved on to work with a former Nigerian leader.
“And after Adenuga, then Obasanjo became President, my dad was flying Obasanjo for like eight years,” he added.
