My father taught me not to question God — Davido

Davido has disclosed the valuable lessons he learned from his billionaire father, Deji Adeleke.

In a podcast interview, Davido shared how his father’s teachings on faith and perseverance have helped him navigate life’s challenges.

Growing up in a Christian home, Davido’s father instilled in him the importance of trusting in God’s plan.

When faced with difficult times, Davido recalled his father’s words: “You can’t question God.”

Davido admitted that he initially struggled to understand this concept, especially after facing personal tragedies, including the loss of his son, Ifeanyi. However, he came to realize the power of faith and perseverance.

He shared how, after a year of struggling, he experienced a series of blessings, including the birth of twins, a successful album, and his first Grammy nominations.

These experiences helped him understand the value of trusting in God’s plan.

“My dad is very successful, but he’s an elder in the church. I grew up as a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. I attended a Christian college.

“I overcame a lot of challenges because of my dad. Initially, I did not understand, but now I’ve come to the realization. I was angry. Sometimes, I was like, ‘Why do bad things happen to good people?’ And my dad told me that you can’t question God.

“I was like, ‘What do you mean you can’t question God?’ And then a year later [after the death of my son, Ifeanyi], we had twins, the biggest album of my career came, and my first Grammy nominations came. Then it started to make sense. People go through different challenges, but just know that God has your back,” he said
