My father don’t believe I’m an actor – Uzor Arukwe

Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has opened up about his strained early relationship with his parents over his acting career during an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo

Speaking on the show, the actor revealed that his father still struggles to accept his profession in the film industry.

“My father doesn’t know that I’m an actor. He has heard, but he doesn’t want to believe it. But it’s my truth,” he said.

Arukwe explained that while his father is aware of his work in entertainment, there is still a level of denial or reluctance to fully accept it.

He also spoke about his mother’s reaction, noting that she initially found it difficult to adjust to his career choice due to the influence of her husband, but eventually came around.

“My mum was slow to adapt because of her husband, but she later came around,” he added.

The actor, known for his roles in several Nollywood films, also reflected on his journey into acting and how he had to push through family expectations to build his career in the entertainment industry.
