Mr. Ibu’s Son accuses the wife of taking over all family properties

Just days ago, King Mitchy publicly appealed for donations to support the late actor Mr. Ibu’s widow, Stella Maris, and her children.

In his appeal, he painted a difficult picture of their living conditions, claiming they had been without electricity for months, relied on well water, struggled with unpaid rent, and could not send the children back to school because of outstanding fees. The appeal generated sympathy, with many seeing it as a genuine call for help following the actor’s death.

However, shortly afterward, one of Mr. Ibu’s senior sons from another relationship came forward with a different account.

According to him, the late actor left behind several properties intended for all his children, but Stella Maris allegedly took control of the entire estate and excluded the other children from decisions regarding the assets.

“My late father left a lot of properties for all his children, but his wife chose to take everything for herself and her own children,” he said.

He further alleged that she sold one of Mr. Ibu’s Lagos properties for ₦60 million without informing or consulting any of the actor’s children.

“My father left many properties for all of us, yet she took control of everything. She even sold my father’s house in Lagos for ₦60 million without reaching out to any of his children,” he added.

The son maintained that the properties were meant to benefit all of Mr. Ibu’s children, but claimed that the widow has been solely managing the assets while sidelining the others.
