Mel B ‘doing fine after treating herpes eye infection’ that made her temporarily blind

Mel B is recovering from an eye infection that she feared had made her blind. The Spice Girl is now ‘doing fine’ after being treated for a flare-up of herpes in her eye, the latest reports claim. Mel has been given eye drops and is expected to return to rehearsals for the Spice Girls tour imminently. A source told People: ‘She’s doing fine now, she’s not blind. This has happened before. She has herpes in her eye, so this can happen.

‘She told the doctor she was blind because she couldn’t see but her eye is OK. They gave her some drops and she’s good now. It was nothing major.’

Mel was rushed to hospital last week, ‘frantic and screaming’ in pain during a rehearsal with the Spice Girls, The Sun reported on Sunday.
