Nancy Isime has spoken up on her views on marriage and the important role financial stability plays in the success of most marital unions.
The 34-year-old, while speaking on the Tea With Tay podcast, claimed that financial pressure can deprive poor couples of the joy of marriage and family. She stressed the importance of not viewing marriage as a poverty alleviation scheme.
“Marriage is not a poverty alleviation scheme but I don’t believe marrying a poor man can make you happy. When rent is due, school fees can’t be paid and there is no food in the house, it is difficult to have a fantastic life. I am not saying there is no love without money. But love and fantastic life are not the same,” she said.
