Nollywood actress Miriam Ogbonna recently shared a candid opinion on parenthood and finances, saying people should be financially stable before deciding to have children, especially given the rising cost of living in the country.
In a post shared on X, the actress wrote:
“If you don’t earn at least 1–2 million naira a month, you have no business giving birth o. Don’t suffer an innocent child that didn’t ask to be born.”
According to Mariam, individuals should ensure they are financially stable before deciding to have children. She believes it is unfair to bring a child into the world without having the means to provide proper care, support, and a comfortable standard of living.
The actress pointed to the rising cost of living in Nigeria, noting that raising children has become increasingly expensive.
Her comments emphasize the importance of responsible family planning and the need for parents to be prepared for the financial demands that come with raising a child.
