The 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony will be held in London for the first time on October 26, organisers announced on Thursday
The landmark edition will commemorate the 70th anniversary of the prestigious award, which was first presented in 1956 to England’s Stanley Matthews.
The Ballon d’Or remains the most coveted individual prize in football, having been dominated for over a decade by Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Last year’s award was won by Paris Saint-Germain winger Ousmane Dembele at a ceremony held in Paris, organised by Groupe L’Equipe, owners of France Football magazine.
Organisers, however, have yet to disclose the specific venue in London for the 2026 event.
