Lionel Messi Explains Why He Struggled in His First Season at PSG

Paris Saint-Germain’s midfielder, Lionel Messi has reflected on his first season at the Ligue 1 club.

The Argentine was speaking in an interview with Tyc Sports, a sports news outlet that is based in France on Monday, May 30th, 2022. According to the South American, the reason for his poor season rested on the way he suddenly left Barcelona in the summer.

Messi had a seemingly poor start to his season following his move from Barcelona during the last transfer season.

Next season will be way better for me with Paris Saint-Germain, I’m sure. It was not easy after that crazy summer. It was really difficult to understand what happened, I wasn’t expecting to leave Barcelona. It was a shock.

Messi scored 11 goals and 13 assists to his name across all competitions in the just concluded 2021/22 football season.
