Lateef Adedimeji scores five AMVCA nominations

Nollywood’s very own Lateef Adedimeji is having a moment to remember.

The talented actor has scored five nominations at the 2026 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), and fans can’t stop talking about it.

Known for effortlessly switching between comedy and drama, Adedimeji is up for Best Lead Actor and multiple nods in Best Supporting Actor, proving once again why he’s one of Nollywood’s most versatile performers.

His film Lisabi is also in the spotlight, earning a nomination for Best Indigenous Movie, while the  movie itself picked up a nod for Best Makeup. Clearly, Adedimeji’s projects are shining both on screen and behind the scenes.

This year’s AMVCA is packed with stiff competition. Daniel Etim-Effiong’s The Herd leads the nominations with nine, showing just how high the bar has been set for Nigerian cinema. Veteran actress Sola Sobowale also secured nods in both lead and supporting roles, proving that experience still counts in an industry that’s constantly evolving.

Organized by MultiChoice, the awards celebrate the talent behind African storytelling from actors to directors, producers, and technical crews. Over time, AMVCA has become more than just a ceremony; it’s a stage for the creativity, passion, and innovation driving Nollywood forward.

For Adedimeji, this recognition is more than numbers it’s about his commitment to his craft. He continues to captivate audiences, setting new standards for contemporary Nollywood performances. And with Lisabi getting multiple nods, it’s clear that indigenous stories are getting the appreciation they deserve, helping Nigerian culture shine on a bigger stage.

As the 2026 AMVCA approaches, excitement is building. Will Adedimeji turn these nominations into wins? Whatever happens, one thing is clear: he’s a force to be reckoned with, and Nollywood fans will be watching closely.
