Foluke Daramola in a recent interview on the African A-List podcast, has shared something that caught the attention of netizens
According to her, she doesn’t actually feel like a married woman even though she has been with her husband, Kayode Salako, for years.
To her, that feeling isn’t a bad thing at all. She described her husband as the “definition of peace,” explaining that their relationship isn’t built on control or strict expectations. Instead, it’s rooted in understanding and mutual respect.
She painted a picture of a marriage where she feels completely free. For example, she said if she ever decided to travel abroad for a long time, her husband wouldn’t question it he would simply support her.
Interestingly, she believes that this kind of freedom actually strengthens their love rather than weakening it.
Daramola also spoke about how she sees her husband beyond just the title of “spouse.” To her, he’s a friend, a confidant, and someone who genuinely supports her. Because of that, she doesn’t feel the pressure that many people often associate with marriage.
Of course, like any couple, they have disagreements. But she made it clear that their arguments don’t last long. They talk things through, settle issues quickly, and move on without holding onto resentment.
Her comments have sparked even more curiosity because of past events in their relationship.
A couple of years ago, Salako revealed publicly that he had taken another wife, Oluwafunke Oyegoke-Salako, while still being married to Daramola.
At the time, the announcement stirred a lot of reactions. Many people wondered how she was coping with the situation.
Salako later explained his decision, pointing out that his marriage to Daramola, which started in 2010, had not resulted in a biological child after many years.
Even with that history, Daramola’s recent remarks suggest she has found peace with how things are. Rather than trying to fit into traditional expectations, she seems focused on what works for her peace of mind, respect, and the freedom to be herself.
