Content creator King Mitchy has announced that the public donated N7.5 million to support the family of late Nollywood actor Mr Ibu after she launched a fundraising campaign on their behalf
The funds will be used to cater for the family’s immediate needs, including the children’s education and accommodation.
Sharing the update on social media, King Mitchy posted a video showing Mr Ibu’s widow, Stella Maris, kneeling in appreciation for the overwhelming support she received from Nigerians.
According to King Mitchy, the money will cover the children’s school fees, the eldest daughter’s WAEC examination fees, their house rent and other pressing expenses.
She also revealed that she had a lengthy conversation with Stella Maris and advised her to move into a more affordable apartment to reduce financial pressure.
She captioned:
“First of all, a massive THANK YOU to every single person who donated and shared. Together, we raised ₦7.5 Million for this family!
“This money will cover: • The children’s school fees • The eldest daughter’s WAEC exams • Their rent and other urgent needs
“After speaking with the mother, I advised her to move to a more affordable place. We had a very long, heartfelt conversation — I’ll be posting the other parts soon because there’s so much to share.
“A lot of you have been sending questions — I asked her most of them. Just to clarify: I only got to know about this family two days ago when a neighbor reached out. I knew nothing before then. My only focus has always been making sure these children get the help they deserve.
“God bless every one of you who showed up for them. This is what we can achieve when we come together. Let’s keep supporting families in need.”
