Alex Rodriguez proposed to Jennifer Lopez during a romantic getaway to the Bahamas in March of last year. But due to COVID-19, the Hollywood couple have ‘postponed’ their planned summer nuptials after ‘struggling for weeks over [the] decision,’ a source told E! News on Thursday. The 50-year-old singer and the 44-year-old former professional baseball player – who began dating in 2017 – had originally planned to carry out their highly anticipated wedding in Italy. The source continued: ‘With no return to normalcy in the near future, [Jennifer and Alex] felt postponing the wedding was the safest and smartest choice. ‘Guests have recently been notified that the wedding will not be happening in late summer as anticipated.’ Though their plans have been thwarted by social-distancing and mandatory lockdowns, the source claimed the pair are hopeful that they will ‘have the wedding of their dreams when the timing is right.’
