I’ve never been on vacation – Burna Boy admits

Afrobeats star, Burna Boy has surprisingly revealed that he’s never truly taken a vacation.

In a recent interview that turned unexpectedly personal, the Afrobeats icon admitted he has never unplugged from the hustle long enough to enjoy a proper getaway.

“You just keep moving,” the interviewer noted. Burna Boy replied matter-of-factly, “I have to.

Pressed further on what downtime even looks like for him, he shrugged:
“I don’t know. I’ve never been on a vacation.”

The host, clearly surprised, joked about never seeing Burna Boy barefoot on a beach.
“I want to see your toes, bro—not in a weird way, but you know…”

Burna laughed and played along:
“My toes are nice, you know.”

While many would assume he’s enjoyed luxury escapes across the globe, the “Last Last” hitmaker explained that his idea of relaxation is simply being back in Nigeria.
“Only in Lagos, when I’m home,” he said.

He did mention a trip to Jamaica but clarified that it felt more like returning to another home than a vacation.
“I went to Jamaica once. But that’s home to me too—so I can’t really count that.”

For Burna, rest isn’t about sandy beaches or exotic retreats—it’s about staying grounded, and maybe one day, figuring out what it really means to slow down.
