Burna Boy may be inching closer to settling down

Known for his brash confidence and expressive nature, the Grammy winner once again sparked buzz this week when a video of him flashing a massive luxury ring on his “wedding finger” surfaced online

Clad in an all-black ensemble, the ‘Last Last’ singer made it clear that financial capacity and intentionality are top of the list of qualities he expects in a future partner.

He boasted that the ring, which reportedly costs $2m, is a statement of his worth, and any woman looking to marry him must come prepared.

“Show me one female that would have put this ring on my finger. This is what my marriage is worth. If you want to marry me, you’re bringing the ring because I already gave myself a ring. It is $2m, so you have to beat it before I love you and we can have children,” he said.

Though the singer has always been vocal about his dreams of building a family, he seems to be giving more serious thought to that reality. During his birthday celebration on July 2, 2025, he joked about becoming a dad, saying, “Na so Jowizaza follow me talk the last time, I come dey think my life. I don dey old oh, I for begin born pikin.”

His shift in mindset isn’t exactly new. In a 2024 livestream, the singer explained that his reason for not having kids yet was his inability to give them the same kind of love and presence his parents gave him. “I don’t want to have kids yet. Have you seen my mum and dad, the way they love me? I can’t give that to anyone right now with the life I’m living,” he said.

Also in 2020, Burna had expressed a similar sentiment in a tweet on March 31, stating, “Just want to be as good a parent to my children as my parents were and still are to me and my sisters. Until I’m confident that I can be stable and settle with the mother of my kids, I can’t have any kids.”
