
Former Nigerian international, John Utaka has declared his willingness to coach the Super Eagles if the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) considers him for the role.
Utaka, who was recently appointed head coach of Montpellier’s women’s team in France’s top-tier Division 1 Féminine, said he would be “glad to come” if approached by the NFF. Speaking to Brila FM after his appointment, the former Portsmouth forward noted that his focus would be on getting the best out of the players
“If the NFF calls me, I’ll be glad to come,” Utaka said. “The job is to coach the players to the maximum.”
During his playing career, Utaka earned 48 caps for Nigeria and scored six goals. He was part of the squad that claimed third place at the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia and also represented the country at two FIFA World Cups, in 2002 and 2010.
