Coming from a poor background, Skales hadn’t seen a TV until Banky W’s record label, EME signed him.
Skales joked about being amazed by the TV, switching it on and off in wonder.

A proper, we sleep on the floor with mats, and my mom would put wrapper on the floor. So coming from that situation, to becoming who I am right now is crazy men. Sometimes I just look at it and I’m like that’s crazy. I never saw TV. The first time I saw TV was when EME signed me. Like to have my own TV in my room.”
