“I never planned for this side of fame” — Arukwe speaks on protecting his family

Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has opened up about the challenges that came with fame after the success of Love in Every Word.

Speaking about his family life, the actor explained that his partner has never been interested in living in the spotlight. According to him, she has her own ambitions and prefers a quiet life away from public attention.

“My partner is not a media person. She has her own life and her own dreams that are separate from mine,” he said.

The actor also shared his hopes for his daughters, stressing that he never wants them to feel pressured into acting or  celebrity life simply because of his career.

“I want my girls to grow up and choose what they want for themselves. They should not feel forced into acting or fame because of my job,” he added.

Arukwe revealed that things changed dramatically after Love in Every Word became popular. His partner’s once-private social media page suddenly attracted hundreds of strangers trying to connect with her.

“When ‘Love in Every Word’ came out, everything changed for her. Her private page suddenly received more than five hundred friend requests. People were knocking on that online door, trying to get inside,” he recalled.

He further explained that some people even sent messages commenting on his romantic scenes on screen and searching for gossip about his personal life.

Despite the attention, the actor said he never expected fame to affect his family this way. He noted that he only wanted to focus on his craft, but life had other plans.

“I did not plan for this side of success. I just wanted to do my work quietly. But God has His own way of moving things. So now I protect my family as much as I can, while still showing up fully for the craft I love.”
