Afrobeats singer Ruger has shared how he once missed out on a major acting opportunity with Nollywood star Funke Akindele, describing it as one of his biggest career regrets
In a chat with VJ Adams, Ruger revealed that he later realised the actress frequently showed love for his music and had even reached out to him on social media about featuring in one of her film projects.
However, he said he didn’t see the message until much later, by which time the opportunity had already passed.
According to him, discovering the missed message left him disappointed, and it remains something he still thinks about.
“I am interested in acting and wouldn’t mind going into the movie industry. I once missed a DM from Funke Akindele for a movie role. I didn’t even see it on time. That one still pains me,” he said.
He also admitted that while he is open to acting, he believes it may be challenging for him due to his dislike for long shooting schedules, though he would still take on roles that allow him fully express himself.
“However, I think acting would be difficult for me because I don’t like shooting. But I would get into character still. If my character is interesting, yeah,” he added.
