After actress Sarah Martins publicly suggested that the newly launched restaurant should have been named after Chioma, Davido’s fiancée, instead of being associated with him, he stepped in to address the misunderstanding.
Commenting under a blog post that discussed the topic, he firmly clarified that he did not open a restaurant at all.
In his response, he wrote, “U just open ur mouth waaahhh… I didn’t open any restaurant… it was a campaign with a food court for my album 5.”
His comment emphasized that what many assumed to be a restaurant was actually a promotional setup—a food court created as part of a marketing campaign for his album titled “5.”
Sarah Martins had expressed that Chioma, known for her love of cooking, deserved the recognition and that naming the restaurant after her would have been more fitting.
She hinted that Chioma’s passion for food made her a more suitable figure to be honored in that way. However, the clarification from Davido’s side revealed that the whole event was not a restaurant launch but rather a strategic promotional event linked to the album’s release.
