The Super Eagles of Nigeria have been hit with a big injury blow ahead of their World Cup qualifying game against the Black Stars of Ghana. The team’s shot-stopper, Maduka Okoye at the African Cup of Nations which was hosted in Cameroon, has been ruled out of the game. According to reports, the Watford goalkeeper tested positive for Covid-19 in the Netherlands. The news was confirmed on the official Twitter account of the Super Eagles on March 21st, 2022. According to the tweet, Okoye is will replaced by Enyimba’s John Noble in the team list. The head coach of the team, Augustine Eguavoen will have to rely on ither of Francis Uzoho, Daniel Akpeyi or Noble when the team faces Ghana in the double-headed game. Both teams will be looking to give their all ehen they face each other on the pitch for a spot in Qatar when the 2022 FIFA World Cup kicks off.
