Singer, Skales has claimed that footballers tend to earn higher and more stable income than musicians, pointing to the organised pay structure in football and the unstable nature of the music business
In an interview on The Groovy Mono Show, the singer stated:
“Footballers earn more money than musicians.” he averred.
He noted that football offers regular earnings through salaries and bonuses, regardless of a player’s global popularity.
“As long as you are an active footballer and you’re playing, you’re earning salaries and bonuses. You don’t have to be the most popular player in the world,” he said.
He further compared both industries, describing music as unpredictable and highly competitive.
“Music is very competitive and unpredictable. You can be here today and gone tomorrow,” he noted.
Skales added that sustaining relevance in the music scene is often challenging and not entirely within an artist’s control.
“Staying relevant in the music industry sometimes feels like something you can’t fully control,” he said.
