Nollywood actress Jemima Osunde has criticized filmmakers for prioritizing an actor’s social media presence over their talent when casting for films.
In an interview with colleague Jammal Ibrahim, Osunde expressed frustration that actors are now expected to be social media content creators to secure roles.
“I don’t think an actor’s job is to sell the film through their social media presence,” Osunde argued. Jammal Ibrahim chimed in, emphasizing the importance of good management in helping actors leverage their unique strengths rather than trying to fit into predetermined molds.
“A good manager should work with who you are to make you better, not try to push you to be someone else,” he said.
