Nigerian actress Faithia Williams has shared her frustration over how her latest film is being handled in cinemas, pointing to issues around screening arrangements and access for promotional activities involving her cast.
She also questioned the timing of some of the showings, saying the movie was placed in what she described as odd viewing hours, which she believes could affect audience turnout and the film’s overall performance at the box office.
She expressed dissatisfaction with how the movie is being treated after investing heavily in its production, suggesting that decisions around visibility and support have not been favorable.
According to her, there have also been complications affecting opportunities for her actors to participate in planned audience engagement sessions.
She said:
“They told my actors that Efuroye is not in the list of people meet and greet.Efunroye is not one more thing in the cinema, you want to keep out just like that when i have not make my money.
Their thought if I can’t cope i will leave but you all are liars, I’m here to stay because i suffer for that movie, spent alot of money in producing. We know all of you behind this we all are just keeping quiet. We know those people that do go behind to tell them which movie to accept and not.”
Her comments reflect her disappointment with how the film’s cinema rollout and promotional structure have unfolded, especially regarding audience facing activities meant to support the movie’s release.
