In an announcement on his official Instagram page, the embattled rapper revealed he was ‘putting family and sobriety first’.
The 48-year-old’s team shared the announcement alongside a picture of DMX.
‘In his ongoing commitment to putting family and sobriety first, DMX has checked himself into a rehab facility,’ the statement explained. ‘He apologizes for his cancelled shows and thanks his fans for their continued support.’
The news comes after DMX failed to show for a performance at Def Jam’s 35th anniversary party on Thursday.
