Davido has shared how his collaboration with Nicki Minaj came together, revealing that it all started with a simple Instagram connection he didn’t notice for years.
According to him, the rapper had actually been following him for years without his knowledge.
“Nicki Minaj had been following me on Instagram for 5 years without me knowing,” he said.
At some point, curiosity got the better of him, and he decided to make the first move.
“I finally sent her a DM, and to my shock, she replied asking for my number,” he added.
That unexpected reply quickly turned into something bigger. Davido explained that after they connected, he sent her a song a decision that paid off.
“That’s how I sent her the song
which later became ‘Holy Ground’,” he said.
The track, Holy Ground, featuring Nicki Minaj, eventually became one of the standout records on his album A Better Time, further boosting his global reach and reinforcing his presence on the international music scene.
