Davido announces his plan to release new album next year

Davido has officially confirmed that he is preparing for the release of his highly anticipated fifth studio album in 2025.

The DMW label boss made the exciting announcement during an appearance on The Baller Alert Show.

Davido revealed that his upcoming album will be a true representation of African music, blending the continent’s rich musical heritage with his signature global appeal. He described the project as “real African records,” promising a unique sound that will resonate with fans worldwide.

In addition to the album announcement, Davido teased his forthcoming single “Funds,” a collaboration featuring Nigerian rapper Odumodu Blvck and singer Chike.

He praised Odumodu Blvck as Nigeria’s current rap king and compared Chike to American R&B sensation Bryson Tiller, highlighting Chike’s ability to separate emotion and rhythm.

Davido also expressed his commitment to staying connected to his Nigerian roots, stating, “I have to stay tapped in because why run away from home when others are running there now.
