Davido advises African Americans against relocating to Africa

Davido has shared his concerns about the growing interest among African Americans in relocating to Africa.

In an interview on the Big Homies House podcast, Davido cautioned that despite Africa’s charm, the current economic realities make it a challenging destination for those considering a move.

Davido cited Nigeria as an example, highlighting the country’s economic struggles. “It’s not cool back home. The economy now is in shambles,” he said.

He also noted out the paradox of Nigerians paying high prices for domestically produced oil, using the systemic dormancy affecting living in the continent.

While acknowledging Africa’s growing global appeal, particularly in the entertainment industry, Davido emphasized that this “smokescreen” masks deeper issues. He aimed to provide a balanced perspective, encouraging potential relocators to be aware of the challenges they may face.

“We Nigerians, the exchange rate is messed up, the oil prices is too high. Imagine a country producing oil and we are paying more for oil than countries importing it. We do not have the best leaders, and that is a fact,”

“My aim is to show off the little parts and leave the slums out of the frame,”, he added.
