Chike releases new album ‘Son of Chike’

Nigerian singer Chike has just released his third album, titled ‘Son of Chike‘. This new collection of 12 songs came out on July 19, 2024, two years after his last album.

The album’s title has a special meaning for Chike. It represents both his family heritage (as his father’s son) and his growth as an artist. The songs explore themes like self-discovery, love, family, and life’s challenges.

Chike worked with producer DeeYasso to create this album. It features collaborations with well-known artists like Olamide, Ladipoe, and the late Mohbad. The first single, ‘Egwu‘ featuring Mohbad, has already become very popular with over 250 million streams worldwide.

The album includes a variety of songs. Some, like ‘Unto You‘ with Ladipoe, talk about being true to yourself. Others, like ‘Lifetime Love‘ and ‘Apple’, explore different aspects of love. Chike also celebrates his cultural background in songs like ‘Ego Oyibo‘ and ‘Mma (Beauty)’.

‘Son of Chike‘ ends with a powerful song called ‘Man Not God‘, which talks about being humble and grateful.
