Cardi B insists she never touched security guard

Cardi B denied that her altercation with a security guard got physical as she testified in the civil assault and battery trial on Tuesday

The Bodak Yellow rapper took to the stand during the civil trial in Alhambra, California and insisted that she never touched security guard Emani Ellis during their “verbal altercation” at a Beverly Hills doctor’s office in February 2018.

Sharing her version of events, the hip-hop star, real name Belcalis Almánzar, testified that Ellis followed her down a hallway as she arrived at the doctor’s office for an appointment while secretly pregnant with her first child.

She alleged that Ellis told someone on the phone that she had spotted her and then held her phone to her chest, as if she was recording her as she walked from the lift to the doctor’s office.

The 32-year-old allegedly confronted the security guard, asking why she was following and recording her, and Ellis allegedly replied, “Because I can,” to which Cardi responded, “No, you can’t.”

The dispute escalated to the point where they were standing “chest to chest” and Cardi yelled, “B**ch, get the f**k out of my face.”

“We’re literally screaming at each other,” she said during her testimony. “I didn’t touch her. It was like a verbal fight, but it didn’t get physical at all.”

According to Cardi, when the receptionist and doctor came to investigate the disturbance, Ellis started “wilding out” and accused the rapper of hitting her.

Ellis, who filed her lawsuit in 2020, previously testified that the I Like It hitmaker cut her cheek with her long nails, spat on her and left her traumatised.

Cardi is expected to resume her testimony on Wednesday.

The star welcomed her first child, Kulture, in July 2018. She and her estranged husband, Migos rapper Offset, also share son Wave and daughter Blossom.
