Cardi B criticizes US government in lengthy Instagram video for not paying for coronavirus costs

Cardi B took to Instagram on Tuesday to criticize the US government’s response to the coronavirus pandemic and for not paying for its costs.

The 27-year-old rapper wore a surgical mask and pink T-shirt as she accused President Donald Trump, 73, of causing confusion over the coronavirus while also pointing out treatment inequalities due to socio-economic class differences.

‘If number 45 is getting on a podium saying, ”Hey, listen if you do not have any symptoms of the coronavirus” which is coughing, fever and whatsoever etc, etc ”do not get tested because we don’t have enough tests to test everybody”,’ she said referencing Trump, who is the 45th president of the United States.

‘But if a celebrity is saying ”Hey, listen I don’t have no symptoms, I’m feeling good, I feel healthy, I don’t feel like nothing, but I went and got tested and I’m positive for the coronavirus. That cause confusion,’ Cardi said.

‘That make people be like, wait a minute now, I don’t have no symptoms, but I know I went out this and that day. S***, I might just have it. S***, I’m scared because I’m around my kid, I’m around my grandparent. What should I do?

‘And let me tell you something, the general public, people that work regular jobs, people that get regular paychecks, the middle class, …the poor, ….they not getting treated like the high, the ones up here, celebrities and everything,’ Cardi continued raising both her hands and long pastel nails for effect.

The Bodak Yellow singer during the four-minute video said she knows someone under age 30 who has a cold who was told they could not be tested for coronavirus unless they had been sick for eight days.

She said older people in their 40s, 50s and 60s who have a cold can get tested immediately, but must wait four days for results.

‘If you are positive for coronavirus they will tell you to quarantine in your home and come back if your fever goes 100 and some s*** degress. I don’t feel like that’s right,’ Cardi said.

‘What do they think they are sending people home to? Not everybody has the luxury to go in a f***ing bedroom and to go into a big a** house and just stay away from people. People live in small a** apartments. A lot of people live in small a** apartments with multiple people. So, it’s like if you sending me home and I have the corona f***ing virus, I’m most likely going to give it to my spouse, my kids, anybody that’s around me,’ the Grammy winner said.

She also said ‘a lot’ of celebrities have the money to pay whatever it costs to get tested and treated.

‘A lot of these people they don’t f***ing have that money. Some people don’t even have money to f***ing afford healthcare,’ Cardi said.

Cardi said testing and treatment should be paid for by the government.

‘This is y’all fault that it got into this motherf***ing country. That could have been avoided this s***. A month ago everybody was saying, ”It’s fine” this s*** ain’t that serious. Now look. Look at that. And that’s my point,’ Cardi said.

Cardi in the caption for her roughly 61 million followers wrote: ‘I said what I said I said what I said.’
