“Be like me, don’t quit acting for marriage” — Actress, Tina Mbah advise her colleagues

Veteran Nollywood actress Tina Mbah has a message — loud and clear — for her fellow actors: don’t lose yourself to love.

Speaking on a recent episode of Lights, Camera – It’s My Turn, the seasoned actress didn’t hold back as she urged colleagues not to sacrifice their careers just to keep a partner happy.

According to her, the red flags are usually there from the start. “He met you as an actor, married you as an actor, and suddenly wants you to quit?” she asked. “Watch him. Watch her. Don’t ignore the signs.”

Mbah, a proud mother of two, hinted at her own experience and encouraged creatives to protect their dreams — even if it means drafting an agreement before saying I do.

“Marriage is great, but no one forced you into it,” she said. “You didn’t force him to quit his job, did you? So why should you give up yours?”

Her advice? Be wise, be observant, and if the love isn’t supporting your grind, keep it moving.

“Don’t go for the dazzles,” she added. “Be an antique babe like me.”
