Barcelona were crowned Spanish La Liga champions after defeating arch rivals Real Madrid 2-0 in a thrilling El Clasico clash at Camp Nou on Sunday night
Marcus Rashford opened the scoring with a brilliant free-kick before Ferran Torres added the second goal with a composed finish as Hansi Flick’s men sealed a comfortable victory.
The win confirmed Barcelona’s 29th La Liga title with three matches still left to play this season.
The Catalan giants have now won back-to-back league titles and remain seven trophies behind record holders Real Madrid in Spain’s top flight.
Barcelona’s dominant form saw them put together an impressive 11-match winning streak in La Liga, leaving them 14 points clear of their fierce rivals.
Their outstanding home record also played a major role in the triumph, with the victory over Real marking their 18th win in 18 home league games this season.
Real Madrid managed just one shot on target throughout the encounter, the first time they have recorded such a low tally in a league match since February 2023.
The latest result also means both Barcelona and Real Madrid have now won El Clasico 106 times each, alongside 52 draws in 264 competitive meetings.
