Asake’s mother, Ololade, has shared insights into the singer’s childhood, revealing how his strong personality often made life challenging at home
In an interview with Korty, she described him as highly stubborn while growing up, recalling how he would sometimes disappear for days whenever he got into trouble.
“Asake was so stubborn that if he commits an offense at home, he will run away from home for 3-4 days and we’ll look for him everywhere. […] I had gotten his international passport to study in the UK, but he insisted on going to OAU.”, She said.
She also disclosed that despite plans to send him abroad for his education, Asake remained firm in his decision to chart his own path, choosing Obafemi Awolowo University instead.
