Actor Yul Edochie has said that he does not need an Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Award to prove his acting talent
Speaking on the Honest Bunch podcast, Edochie addressed discussions about never winning an AMVCA.
He argued that awards decided by a small group of people cannot determine his value in the movie industry.
Edochie expressed strong confidence in his acting ability, claiming that some performances he delivered four to six years ago have not been replicated by other actors to date.
While discussing his place in Nollywood, the actor described himself as one of the best in the industry, noting that he avoids calling himself the greatest out of respect for his father, veteran actor Pete Edochie.
Edochie stated he has no issues with AMVCA organisers and feels no pressure over their choices.
He said he has never complained online about lacking nominations or awards because he is unbothered by their decisions.
The actor said his focus remains on delivering strong performances in every film role. He added that he always gives his best effort and leaves judgment to viewers and critics.
Edochie stated that people’s opinions or personal attitudes toward him do not affect his mindset as he remains focused on career progress and self-improvement.
