Africa has the worst government – Davido

Davido has made a controversial statement concerning the African governments

Davido in a recent interview highlighted Africa and spoke about the power of its culture and the role it plays in the entertainment industry.

While speaking on his Journey as an African musician, Davido expressed how powerful music, art and fashion are in uniting the continent despite all odds.

“Every successful person who has experienced success can’t explain the feeling,” he said, recounting early personal experiences of being misunderstood as an African student abroad.

He likened it to how Africans in the diaspora now highly rate their ancestry.

Davido emphasised the important role music has played in promoting Africa.

“Back then we used to be so excited to go to America. It’s not just music but the whole culture has put Africa on the map.

If you go to the Paris Fashion Week, 80% of the models and creative directors are Africans. I’m happy that entertainment switched the narrative about Africa.

“We don’t have the best leaders and we have the worst government but our entertainment is it,” Davido stated.
