Actor Yemi Solade has publicly apologized to fellow actor, Afeez Owo over a physical altercation that occurred on a movie set.
In a recent interview, Solade recounted the incident, which took place during a film shoot in a town outside Ibadan, where Afeez was the production manager.
Solade admitted that he lost his temper and slapped Afeez during a moment of frustration, particularly after a blackout hit the town and he felt Afeez wasn’t taking his concerns seriously.
He expressed regret for his actions,
Solade revealed that the incident had weighed on his conscience, and he appreciated Afeez’s forgiveness.
He also shared that he dislikes insults and acknowledged that this sensitivity could be his weakness.
He said: “Let me apologise to Afeez Abiodun. I slapped him once. He was the production manager of a movie, I can’t recall the year exactly. We got to the town outskirts of Ibadan, and when we finished filming, there was a blackout,” he said.
“As the production manager, he was the one we’d lay our accusations and frustrations on. It got me infuriated because he wasn’t taking me seriously, and that slap came from nowhere, in the dark. I didn’t like that.”
“Afeez, I’m sorry. Mabinu simi [please don’t be offended with me]. It’s been a long time, like 20 years. I’ve complained bitterly to some people before, but let me just stick to Afeez directly. I don’t like insults, and that could be my weakness.”
