A television executive killed herself just months after discovering her ballet dancer son hanged at home, an inquest heard.
Helene Beauchampad told friends she had “nothing to live for” following the suicide of son James, who performed on the West End.
The 46-year-old spiralled downhill as she struggled to cope with the death of the teenager and had made a previous suicide attempt on the day of his funeral.
She was admitted to a psychiatric hospital where, the coroner heard, where a woman added to her grief by saying inappropriately: “You’re still young, you can still have more children.”
An inquest in Winchester heard how the separated mother and son lived together at the family home in Tring, Herts and it was there that she found him hanged on December 5 2018.
The mum often tweeted about ballet in support of her son, who performed in the classic The Nutcracker in December 2015 at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London’s West End.
She struggled to cope with his death and was staying in Andover when she took an overdose before heading to a doctor’s surgery where she collapsed
She was rushed to hospital in Basingstoke where she died five days later.
The coroner was told that Helene worked in TV production for 20 years and was a lover of food, ballet and travel.
She later worked for Sky but had been involved as a floor manager in numerous TV productions of programmes including “Birds of a Feather” and “Goodnight Sweetheart,”
