Francia Raísa’s father says his daughter confronted Selena Gomez because she didn’t stop drinking after the “Grown-ish” alum donated a kidney to the singer.
When asked why Raísa didn’t appear in Gomez’s new documentary, “My Mind & Me,” Renán Almendárez Coello confirmed longstanding rumors that the girls got into a disagreement.
“Love, money and fame changes the whole world, including Selena,” he said on “Primer Impacto” last November.
The host then questioned if their fallout was “provoked” by Gomez’s drinking.
“There’s a difference when Selena is drinking,” Coello replied. “Francia told Selena that she didn’t give her the kidney so she could go out and drink.”
Francia Raísa’s dad, Renán Almendárez Coello, said his daughter confronted Selena Gomez about drinking alcohol after the kidney transplant.
He warned the “Only Murders in the Building” star to “be really careful.”
Coello, 69, then issued a warning to the “Only Murders in the Building” actress: “Be careful. Be really careful.”
In 2017, Raísa donated one of her kidneys to Gomez, who suffers from lupus.
The “Wizards of Waverly Place” alum, 30, documented the medical procedure, sharing images of her and the “How I Met Your Father” actress, 34, holding hands from their respective hospital beds.
“There aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa,” Gomez wrote at the time on Instagram. “She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me.
“I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much sis.”
