Dr. Laura Okoro is a multiple award winning Nigerian realtor , entrepreneur and humanitarian. She’s the CEO of a fast rising real estate company; Resilience Homes Limited. She also owns a fashion brand called Dress2inspire, and a foundation; Laura Okoro foundation.
Dr. Laura is a graduate of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka with Bsc in applied microbiology and brewing. She was recently awarded as one of the 50 young persons of the year at the just concluded young entrepreneur international summit.
In a recent brief with the media , the multidimensional business lady talks about real estate development in Nigeria, the challenges as a woman in the men-dominated business , its future and her current projects.
Dr. Laura started her career in the real estate sector in 2019 after she had served as a secretary in a real estate firm, and that shaped her to becoming a professional and certified realtor.
Speaking about the challenges as a female realtor, she said in her words ;
“The challenges are many,but I will just narrow it down to one.
As a woman in a men’s world dominated industry,trust me it is not very rosy.
Many times people down play you,talk down on you,try to take advantage of you,all in the name of patronage,but by God’s Grace,we are already used to it,and ofcourse have better ways of handling such issues.”.
Dr Laura continued , she said Real Estate gave her the opportunity to create more jobs and also make legit money through her company Resilience homes which she revealed that it’s a brand owned by God.
Talking about Resilience Homes ; in her words , she said “Our goals and visions involves not just selling real estate,but by making sure we add values to the society developmentally and economically. We pride in trust, top notch services, credibility, transparency,charisma and character.”.
Dr. Laura says her company offers a fear and risk free , world-class services; and they are obligated to meet the best of services demands from their clients all over the world on investments in housing and properties.
Speaking about her recent projects and the future of real estate business in Nigeria , She said her company is currently working on White Homes Estate; and the future of real estate would be amazing, as property ownership has been made so easy, people can now buy on mortgages.
On her last words , she said ; “Every Nigerian youths should stand up for themselves doing something. If you can’t get a job,create one,so we can make our country habitable.”.
